San Francisco, California is a vibrant, bustling city sometimes referred to as New York on the Pacific, but with a little more charm.
There are a lot of people on the streets (despite what you may have heard not all of them aging brain fried hippies although you will find plenty of those too) and the energy level is young and high.
Unlike Los Angeles the city does not close down at night with everyone fleeing to suburbia, the nightlife is hip and colorful. You don’t see too many dogs in San Francisco unless they are the companions of the aging brain fried hippies that sleep on street corners and don’t cause too much trouble.
There really is no reason for the dog to visit San Francisco – they are not allowed on the trams that run from the city center to Fishermen’s Wharf; they are not allowed in restaurants (this is not Europe despite the somewhat European feel), they are not allowed on the ferries that chug around the Golden Gate Bridge and “the Rock” which is a super interesting trip ………
But of course, if you want to and are driving through, well why not?
